‘MKU College to soon become government institute’, says registrar of the varsity V Chinniah

Amidst demands from students, faculty members and academicians, urging the State government to convert MKU College into a government institution.

MADURAI: Amidst demands from students, faculty members and academicians, urging the State government to convert MKU College into a government institution, the registrar of the varsity V Chinniah said that the college would soon become a government institution and that they were waiting for the final approval from the authorities concerned.  

Chinniah said a proposal had been sent to the higher education department and that the university had not received any communication so far.The TN government recently converted all the constituent colleges of universities into government colleges.

Responding to the issue, Higher Education Department Principal Secretary Sunil Paliwal said that the higher education department was taking steps to convert the college, “and the university has sent proposals, with relevant details, for the same,” he added.
