MADURAI: On the sidelines of his visit to the Meenakshi Temple in Madurai on Friday, Karnataka CM H D Kumaraswamy said that his government had no objection to releasing water from time to time as per the Cauvery Tribunal’s final award, provided there was good monsoon.

Speaking to mediapersons, Kumarasamy said, “Whatever the tribunal had said in its verdict about the monthly release of water, by God’s grace, my government will implement it through legal ways.” Responding to a question from mediapersons whether Karnataka will release the 10 TMC and 25 TMC water for June and July respectively, Kumaraswamy said, “God has blessed the Karnataka with good rain. I have already given directions to engineers  to release water. More than 20,000 cusecs is being released from Kabini reservoir and this year both the States will get sufficient water. With this, hopefully, the problems of Tamil Nadu farmers will be solved.”
