MADURAI: As many as 5,000 medical seats will be up for grabs to students from Madurai district through the All India Russian Education Fair 2023 on May 16, Study Abroad Educational Consultants said on Friday. Director of the organisation C Suresh Babu said the fair will be held across the state.
"In Madurai, the event will be held at the Madurai Residency Hotel featuring leading government medical and engineering universities from Russia. On the spot admission for undergraduate courses in both the fields will be available. For engineering students, 1,000 seats will be offered," he added.
Suresh also said students who cleared NEET and have 50% marks for their relevant core subjects are eligible for general category, adding that 40% is needed for students from SC,ST and OBC communities. Each medical student has to spend around Rs 25,00,000-Rs 28,00,000 for the six-year medicine course, which includes one year of internship, he stated.
In this first phase of this education fair, around five medical universities will be taking part and in the second one, which will be held in June, will see the participation of eight to ten medical colleges.
