Effective tech usage makes India most digitalised country in world, says Governor Ravi

COIMBATORE: India is the most digitalized country in the world due to its effective utilization of technology, said Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi. He said that active civil society participation helped India to bring revolutionary changes in the past nine years.
Addressing delegates and students after inaugurating the Civil 20 India 2023 Working Group Summit on Technology and Security for One World held at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham on Saturday, the governor said that the world is facing numerous problems and is looking towards India hoping to find solutions to the issues.
“Providing bank accounts for all through Jan Dhan Yojana, rolling out of Aadhar covering 1.3 billion people and Covid-19 vaccination with the help of technology helped revolutionize the country’s success,” he said, adding that India’s digital transactions are the largest in the world in terms of payment. He said that however, there is a risk in the usage of technology and cyber crimes need to be tackled.
“Artificial intelligence is progressing leaps and bounds. It will be interacting with humans just like humans interact with each other in the near future. Unless it is used appropriately, sometimes thing may go out of control,” he said.
National Cyber Security Coordinator, PMO India, Rajesh Pant said that as per the world economic forum data, cybercrime is the biggest man-made risk to the economic progress of nations and an estimated loss last year was $6 trillion. Sherpa of the C20 charter Vijay Nambiar and Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham president Amritaswarupananda Puri were among the people who participated in the event.
