MADURAI: Decomposed bodies of a 70-year-old man and his nephew were found near an illegal electric fence in the outskirts of Ambasamuthiram near Usilampatti on Saturday late evening. The deceased, P Mani (70) and S Asaipandi (37) of Ambasamuthiram, had gone missing on Wednesday night and their families had searched for them everywhere the next day.

Later, the families alerted the villagers and Usilampatti Taluk police. On Saturday late evening, the duo's decomposed bodies were found near an illegal electric fence at a sugarcane farm. The bodies were sent to Government Rajaji Hospital for postmortem and later handed over to the families.

The sugarcane farm is owned by Natarajan of Ambasamuthiram and leased by K Dharmar (65) of the same village. Dharmar allegedly installed electric fencing around the farm to keep away wild boars. Mani and Asaipandi reportedly went near the spot for rabbit hunting. Usilampatti Taluk police have registered a case against Dharmar under section 304 (ii) of the IPC.
