Tamil Nadu Class 10 students register pass percentage of 91.39

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu class 10 students registered a pass percentage of 91.39 in the final examinations held in April. The results were announced by the director of government examinations on Friday. 

A total of 9,14,320 students, including 4,55,017 girls and 4,59,303 boys, wrote the class 10 examinations that were held from April 6 to April 20. Of this, 8,35,614 students passed the examination. Girls had a pass percentage of 94.66 while it was 88.16 for boys. 

The class 10 pass percentage was 90.07 last year. According to the DGE data, 3,718 schools registered all pass of which 1,026 were government schools.  The pass percentage of government schools was 87.45, government-aided schools 92.24 and private schools 97.38.

More students scored centum in Maths (3,649) followed by social science (3,584). 

Perambalur district stood first in pass percentage with 97.67 followed by Sivagangai 97.53. As far as government schools are concerned, Kanniyakumari fared well with 93.47 per cent.
