MADURAI: In the wake of an allegation that Aavin (Madurai) was showing less procurement in their books, despite higher supply by dairy farmers, the latter denied the claims and said that the information was wrongly declared by the milk co-operative society (MPCS).
TNIE published a detailed story on November 14, following which Aavin initiated a detailed inquiry.
According to a press release, Aavin conducted an inquiry led by the team leader of the Tirumangalam milk procurement team. The report said that the quantity claimed by Vairamani, who was the former president of MS 2051 Vazhai Thoopu Milk Cooperative Society, was inaccurate and misleading.
Upon examining the actual milk procurement of the society, it was found that it was transported along with milk from two other bulk milk coolers (BMC)-- Karuvattanai and Elumalai Alagiyanallur -- in Aavin's union tanker.
"When we compared the actual procurement quantity with the supplied quantity across all three BMCs, discrepancies were absorbed in the total and reported to each BMC. The quantity was reconciled after 456 litres were added to the Vazhaithoppu account for July and 390 litres for August," the release said. Aavin further maintained that they are taking every possible step to address the grievances of each society promptly and effectively.
