KRISHNAGIRI/DHARMAPURI: While the DMK’s alliance parties are not happy with the seat-sharing arrangements for the Assembly election, the AIADMK formed an alliance and seat-sharing happened swiftly, said AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami, in Krishnagiri on Thursday.

Campaigning for the party’s candidates in Krishnagiri district, Palaniswami said, “Stalin is stating that the AIADMK is BJP’s slave when in reality, the DMK has been the Congress’ slave for many years. While the DMK is proclaiming it has a grand alliance, the fact is AIADMK has more political parties with higher vote bank in the NDA.”

“Recently, VCK leader Thol Thirumavalavan fumed that due to the delay in seat sharing talks, they were unable to field good candidate. All political leaders in the DMK alliance are crying and are unhappy.

An audio message was widely circulated on social media wherein former DMK minister A Raja was allegedly fuming that he was not supported by the DMK when he was arrested for the alleged 2G spectrum scam, but Kanimozhi Karunanidhi was protected.”

“If DMK comes to power, Stalin will treat the people of Tamil Nadu as prisoners,” Palaniswami added.

‘AIADMK’s ideology is to fight for Tamils’

Campaigning later in Dharmapuri, he said, “Our key ideology is to fight for the rights of Tamils. In 2021, we achieved an overwhelming victory in Dharmapuri, cementing the district as one of AIADMK’s forts.”

Speaking about the increase in crimes against women and children, he said, “As per the government’s data, a total of 26,651 cases have been committed against women and children. Yet, Stalin claims that law and order is not affected. In the Anna University sexual assault case, we are yet to identify who that ‘sir’ is. We can list out many crimes where justice has been denied.”

“The DMK MPs have failed to stop NEET, a key promise made by the DMK during the 2021 election. When the AIADMK had 37 MPs, they boycotted the Lok Sabha proceedings for 22 days, and we had fought and implemented the Supreme Court judgment of the Cauvery water issue,” he added.
