Lokesh to Tour Telangana in January

HYDERABAD: Nara Lokesh, TDP leader and son of Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, will tour Telangana  from the second week of January.

According to sources, Lokesh, who is preparing himself to take up bigger role in the party, held a review meeting with the TDP workers on Tuesday and prepared a tentative plan for his proposed tour. He even directed the party workers to make elaborate arrangements for the tour.

With TDP becoming weak in Telangana and party MLAs and MLCs crossing over to TRS, the tour of Lokesh has gained significance. His tour is being seen as an effort to revive the party in the new state.

Lokesh wants to tour Telangana to boost the morale of the party cadres there. Lokesh, who played a vital role in the online membership drive of the party, will personally hand over membership cards to a few new members during his tour.

Party leaders from Telangana believe that the tour would improve the morale of the party workers and would also help in putting a halt to desertion by party leaders, the sources added.
