FAST Scheme to Cover all Poor Students in TS

HYDERABAD : Education Minister G Jagadeeshwar Reddy said on Thursday that efforts were being made by the State government to ensure that only genuine Telangana students benefit from the proposed Financial Assistance to Telangana Students (FAST) scheme. Speaking to the media here, he said, “Efforts are on to bring all poor students of Telangana, under the scheme.”

The cabinet sub-committee will meet on Friday to work out modalities for the new scheme. 

Separate Inter Board Soon

After pitching for the Telangana State Council of Higher Education, the State government will soon establish its own Board of Intermediate. The present Board is mandated to serve both Andhra and TS for a period of 10 years as per the AP Reorganisation Act 2014. In a closed door meeting with officials from BIE, the minister instructed them to conduct separate exams for Telangana students, sources said.
