KTR Inspects Gujarat Water Grid

HYDERABAD: To Speed up the process of setting up a water grid for Telangana, a team of officials led by Panchayat Raj and IT minister K T Rama Rao examined various aspects of the model of water grid being implemented in Gujarat.

Rama Rao, after going through the model, expressed confidence that the construction of a water grid in Telangana is very much possible and it (grid) will be constructed to high standards and quality. Rama Rao and officials met Gujarat state principal secretary and water board chairman Rajiv K Gupta and discussed the quality of pipes used for the purpose, project design, quality standards and technology used in its execution.

The delegation sought to know how water from Narmada was conveyed to other places for drinking and irrigation. Since the purpose of the Telangana water grid is only for providing drinking water to all districts, the minister and officials paid particular attention to aspects of providing drinking water to various places there through the water grid.
