KCR Approves Design for Telangana Kalabharathi

HYDERABAD: Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who is keen on developing Hyderabad City with international standards, had approved the design of the proposed Telangana Kalabharathi to come up at the existing NTR stadium.

Rao, who wants to change the face of Hyderabad, proposed to construct several skyscrapers, skyways, convention centres and others across the city. The Telangana Kalabharathi is one among them and the foundation stone for the same would be laid shortly. ‘’As a tribute to the glorious history of Telangana state, a classical design of the proposed building to house the Telangana Kalabharathi was prepared by world famous architect Hafeez Contractor. The same was presented to Rao and it has been approved,’’ a release from the CMO said here on Sunday.

The main design incorporates in it four more inside designs of four auditoria with a seating capacity of 3,000, 1,500, 1,000 and 500 respectively. The building for which Rao will lay foundation shortly will come up on the vacant place of about 14 acres opposite Indira Park. The structure, a public building, will have large water bodies and fountains around it.

The plinth area of the building will be roughly 1,25,000 square feet with 125 by 125 square meters dimensions. In the site, the building will be almost centrally located having lawns either side. There will be two corner gates one located on the north-west side and the other towards south-east. Besides these two, a grand gate towards east side will also be kept.
