HYDERABAD:The dearth of jobs for engineering graduates is not uncommon even as the vacancies abound in different companies round the year. The one-time registration facility (OTR) of the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) just demonstrate the same.

Of the 63,488 job aspirants who had registered with the TSPSC using this facility, as many as 24,515 candidates are from different streams of engineering.

Among those, graduates of B Tech(Electronics and Communication Engineering)tops the list with 7,788 candidates, followed by 4,786 aspirants from B.Tech(Computer Science)- the two popular choice of any student wanting to pursue engineering. These figures are by the end of May.

Candidates of other streams account for 2,027(IT), 3,640(electrical and electronics engineering), 3,138(civil engineering), 38(chemical engineering)and 27(mining engineering).

As for district-wise break down, Warangal has 10,165 candidates registered with the OTR facility, followed by Hyderabad with 9, 103. Interestingly, there are as many as 7,009 registered candidates from other than Telangana State.

The OTR facility was introduced by the TSPSC to help job aspirants, registered with the facility, receive latest information on upcoming notifications issued by TSPSC through an SMS and e-mail. Once registered, candidates need not have to re-enter their details  time and again for different jobs.
