Centre Has not Taken any Decision on Sec 8: Kishan

HYDERABAD: BJP Telangana state unit  president G Kishan Reddy appealed to TRS leaders not to launch a broadside against the Centre over Section 8. He said the TRS heaping criticism on the Centre was unwarranted.

Interacting with press persons here on Thursday, he said: “The Centre has not yet made any announcement, or gave any indication that it would invoke Section 8 in Hyderabad. Then why make it an issue?”

He said it was strange to see TDP leaders announcing that the Centre was gearing up for invocation of Section 8, and TRS reacting to those comments.

He clarified that the Telangana BJP was against invocation of the contentious provision of the AP Reorganisation Act and said such a move would again disrupt peace in both states.

The BJP leader criticised both TDP and TRS in same breath for portraying cash-for-vote scam and Section 8 issues as issues concerning people.

“These are basically issues between TRS and TDP but not between people of Telangana and AP. So stoking regional passions again means inviting trouble in both states,” he added.
