HYDERABAD: Soon, one can make online donations to the famous Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy temple at Yadagirigutta (Yadadri) in Nalgonda district and also to Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy temple at Bhadrachalam in Khammam district.
The state government is all set to launch online payment gateways to enable people make online donations to these temples.
This online payment gateway is one among the several initiatives that the state government proposed as part of the Digital Telangana programme to be launched on July 1.
Digital Telangana is part of Central government’s Digital India programme. As part of Digital Telangana, the government proposed to launch new e-services -- online payment gateways to two main temples in Telangana. The state government has already launched massive development programmes for Yadagirigutta to develop it on the lines of Tirumala.
As part of Digital Telangana the state proposed to promote digital literacy, cyber hygiene and cyber security. The government will encourage people’s participation through Digital Pledge, 2k and 5k runs, competitions, Hackathon events and others.
Biometric attendance system would be launched in Warangal district. Wi-fi services will be launched at Telangana University in Nizamabad.
The main objectives of Digital India includes enabling digital empowerment of citizens, facilitating digital infrastructure as a utility to every citizen and providing governance and services on demand. Digital India will be launched through a week-long programme starting July 1.
In fact, some of the state government’s goals under Digital Telangana far exceed Digital India’s goals, IT minister KT Rama Rao said here on Monday.
The state government is planning to lay OFC to each household using water grid trenches. The government will provide 4G services in the entire state and wi-fi in major cities and towns.
Soon e-Panchayat scheme will be made available, under which ‘One Stop Shop kiosk’ would be available in each panchayat.
The state government also launched digital literacy programme, under which one member of each household will be taught to become digitally literate. The state is also planning to convert as many mee-seva services as possible on mobile platform and make mobile governance a reality.
Meanwhile, the state government has been working on making the vision of Digital Telangana a reality by providing 4G services in major cities. Already Wi-Fi services are available at Tank Bund, Necklace Road, Charminar, Public Gardens and railway stations in Hyderabad.
During the week, the state government will sign MoUs on cyber security with CR Rao Institute and on digital literacy with Nasscom. The best performing mee-seva operators will be given prizes.
