SANGAREDDY: A farmer named Sokkula Venkatreddy (36) committed suicide by consuming pesticide at Ippalaguda village of Wargal mandal of Medak district. The village falls under Gajwel constituency, which is Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s constituency.
Police said, Sokkula was unable to provide sufficient water to irrigate his fields and that might be the reason behind his suicide. Last year, in the Kharif season, he took six acres of land on lease and borrowed `4 lakh. He also owned two acres of land and cultivated cotton in it.
