NIZAMABAD:Nizamabad MP K Kavitha said she was able to get Rs 2,500 crore projects for development and welfare programmes in her constituency, thanks to the support from Central and State governments.

Kavitha, who completed one year as MP, released a progress card of her performance at a press conference here on Monday. She said that the Union Commerce Ministry agreed to set up a Turmeric Board in Nizamabad district.

“AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa and her party MPs and several Chief Ministers are also supporting the demand for a Turmeric Board in Nizamabad,” she said and added that the state government had already started the process of allocating 34 acres for the Board.

Currently, Turmeric Board administrative office is functioning from the district collectorate. She said Nizamabad-Peddapally railway line project will be completed by the end of her tenure. “In the recent budget, Railway Ministry allocated Rs 143 crore to the pending project and the ministry decided to complete several other pending works at a cost of Rs 40 crore,” she said. “The State government has decided to take over Nizam Deccan Sugars Limited and appointed a committee that is expected to submit its report in the coming two months,” she said. All issues related to the NDSL would be resolved during the process of take over including distribution of pending dues to the farmers. The government plans to provide job security to NDSL employees, she added.Other Achievements

pitch in to develop Jagtial: Kavitha

Karimnagar: Nizamabad MP K Kavitha urged leaders of all parties to pitch in for the development of Jagtial (under Nizamabad constituency).  Speaking to newsmen at the TRS party office in Jagtial on Monday, she said that the TRS government had spent Rs 471 crore for development of Jagtial constituency through various welfare schemes.  She asked Jagtial MLA T Jeevan Reddy of the Congress to come forward for development of the constituency. The MP promised to develop Jagtial — Karimnagar highway as a National Highway with a four-lane road.
