15-year-old Gangraped, Killed

HYDERABAD: A 15-year-old girl was abducted, gangraped and brutally done to death, sending shockwaves across state, the incident happened under Bantwaram police limits in Rangareddy district of Telangana late on Thursday night.

The girl and her father Magawath Kamal alighted at the Vikarabad railway station in the evening and were on thier way home on a motorcycle when they were attacked by a group of unidentified persons at Mettapur village around 7.45 pm. Kamal and her daughter stopped by a borewell as the latter had wanted to quench her thirst, police said, adding that while they were drinking water, at least two assailants pounced upon Kamal. “They hit him on the head with a stone due to which he lost his consciousness. The assailants dragged the girl into an auto-rickshaw, in which three other accomplices, including auto-driver were waiting, and sped away,” district SP M Srinivas said.

Kamal regained consciousness after a while and frantically searched for his daughter but in vain. He immediately lodged a complaint at the nearest police station.The girl’s body was found in a forest area, hardly a km from where she was kidnapped, on Friday morning. The victim had head injuries and scratch marks on her body. She was strangulated.

Preliminary investigation and medical reports revealed the girl was gangraped before being killed, the SP confirmed. She had beenstaying at her relative’s house for the last one month and her father was taking her home.
