HYDERABAD: A day after TRS activists allegedly assaulted its MLA G Chinna Reddy in Mahbubnagar district, the Congress on Tuesday intensified attack on the pink party and lodged a formal complaint with Governor ESL Narasimhan.

The Congress Legislature Party and the extended executive committee of the TPCC, which met here separately, discussed the incident.

At the CLP meeting, some MLAs proposed that they stage a protest in front of the Chief Minister’s Office at the Secretariat. However, CLP leader K Jana Reddy advised his colleagues against it and suggested a more democratic protest. Following this, a delegation of Congress MLAs and leaders met the Governor and lodged a complaint against the high-handed behaviour of the TRS leaders.

Sonia Visit in June?: AICC chief Sonia Gandhi is likely to tour Telangana next month. Asked if Sonia Gandhi would be attending a meeting in Telangana on June 2, TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy replied that she might tour the State in June but not on June 2.
