Rajaiah Held as Cops Probe Suicide Angle

HYDERABAD:The police on Thursday night arrested former Congress MP Sircilla Rajaiah, his wife Madhavi and son Anil Kumar, a day after his daughter-in-law and three grandsons were found dead at his residence in Warangal.

Confirming the arrests, Warangal police commissioner G Sudheer Babu said that the police had leads in terms of medical as well as forensic evidence to suggest suicide. In fact, acting on a complaint from the mother of S Sarika, the deceased daughter-in-law of Rajaiah, a case under Sections 498A (harassment) and 306 (abetment to suicide) of the IPC and under Section 174 (suspicious death) of the CrPC was booked against Rajaiah and family. “Postmortem and forensics suggest it could be a case of suicide. But, we are not drawing any conclusions yet,” Sudheer said. Rajaiah, his wife and son were remanded in 14-day judicial custody and shifted to the Warangal jail.
