VHR Slams Omission of Nehru Photo in Government Ad

HYDERABAD:Irked by the absence of of Jawaharlal Nehru’s photograph in the Children Day advertisement released by Union Government to news papers on Saturday, leaders of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) alleged that the government has hurt the sentiments of the people.

“How come the photograph of our first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru did not find place in the children’s day advertisement released by the Union Government, when the the day itself is celebrated to mark his birthday? The BJP government has not just hurt the feelings of the followers of Nehru but all sections of the people,” said Rajyasabha member and senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao in Hyderabad.

The children’s day advertisement released by Union Ministry of Women and Child Development to some news papers on Saturday, featured the photographs of President of India Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

 TPCC leaders Hanumantha Rao, Danam Nagendar, Vivek, among others staged a protest in front of Nehru Statue in Hyderabad against the advertisement.
