Sangareddy to Get Manjeera Water Soon

SANGAREDDY: Manjeera drinking water supply to Sangareddy would be restored after a couple of days. The officials have finally decided to release water to the town but once in three days.It may be recalled that Manjeera water supply to Sangareddy was stopped a month ago due to the drop in the water level in the reservoir. This is the first time that water supply was stopped for a month. Officials tried to utilise available water carefully as there was no water in Singur project.

Sangareddy municipal officials pumped the water and did not depend on Hyderabad Metro Water Works in the past. The problem aggravated when water stopped entering the intake well set up in the reservoir. They tried to get the water to the intake well by digging a channel from where Hyderabad Metro Water Works was drawing water, but in vain. Irrigation minister T Harish Rao held a meeting two days ago and directed them to take measures for restoring water supply to Sangareddy and neighbouring villages.
