Bandaru Dattatreya Assures Distressed Farmers of Centre's Help

Union labour and employment minister Bandaru Dattatreya assured farmers all possible help from the Centre to overcome the financial crisis being faced by them.

HYDERABAD: On a day when opposition parties organised a state-wide bandh protesting against TRS government’s inability to come to the rescue of farmers in the state,  Union labour and employment minister Bandaru Dattatreya assured farmers all possible help from the Centre to overcome the financial crisis being faced by them.

Dattatreya, who called on governor ESL Narasimhan here on Saturday, told newsmen that he discussed farmers’ suicide issue with the governor and assured all possible help from the Centre to farmers. “I would take up farmers’ suicide issue with the Centre. I would see that the Centre come to the rescue of the distressed farmers of the state,” he said.He said measures are needed to be taken by the state as well as the Centre to give confidence to farmers so that they do not take the drastic step of committing suicide.

Dattatreya, who has been organising “Alai-Balai”-a programme to promote camaraderie and brotherhood since last few years, invited governor for the celebration.
