7 Dead, 32 Injured in Road Accidents in Khammam and Nalgonda Districts

Seven people died and 32 were injured in various road accidents that occurred in Khammam and Nalgonda districts on Sunday.

KHAMMAM/NALGONDA: Seven people died and 32 were injured in various road accidents that occurred in Khammam and Nalgonda districts on Sunday.

In Nalgonda, five people died and another 16 were injured in separate road accidents. According to police, an RTC bus coming from Hyderabad to Vinukonda collided with a DCM van at Vinjamuru village of Chinthapally mandal.  N Venkat Reddy (50) from Devarakonda town, who was a bus passenger and Yadagiri (45) resident of Kurmedu village of Chinthapally mandal, a passenger in the DCM van died. Four people who were injured were admitted to Devarakonda hospital. Chinthapally police have registered a case.

In another incident, a man and boy died as a Bolero collided with a car at Pothunuru village of Pe0ddhavoora mandal on Sunday.

The deceased have been identified as Satheesh (45) car driver and Sreenu (8), both of whom were inside the car. Two people who were injured were admitted to a local government hospital. In another incident, a woman died and 10 people cotton labourers were injured as the auto they were tavelling turned turtle at Thimmapuram village of Athmakur mandal.

According to police, the deceased has been identified as V Padma (28), all the 10 labourers have been admitted to Athmakur (M) government hospital.

In Khammam, two people have been killed in two separate accidents and 16 others have sustained injuries in the district on Sunday.

A speeding  auto-rickshaw overturned near Naravarigudem village in Aswaraopet mandal on Sunday killing one on the spot and injuring 14 others. According to Aswaraopet police, about 20 people of Takkellapadu village in Yerrupalem mandal were going to a temple to perform pujas in a seven-seater auto-rikshaw  on Sunday. While they were crossing Naravarigudem village the auto lost control and overturned. The deceased has been identified as Sudharshan (38). The injured have been admitted to Aswaraopet government hospital. Four other injured were shifted to hospital.

In another incident, Simbolin (37), a lorry driver, died on the spot and two others were injured, when two lorries collided with each other near Kusumnachi. Two helpers of the driver, sustained serious injuries have been admitted to Khammam government hospital.
