HYDERABAD:Telangana recorded the highest power demand after formation of the state on Friday. The demand was recorded as 8,849 MW at 10.58 hours on Friday. The power utilities met the highest-ever demand without any interruption in supply. The previous highest demand of 6,755 MW was recorded on March 28 during summer this year.
With prolonged hot spell even in October, the winter season witnessed power demand like in summer. The highest power demand recorded on March 28 was 156 million units. The power utilities supplied 153 million units, leaving a deficit of around 3 million units. On Friday the demand was around 158 million units and Transco met it without any interruption thanks to proper planning.
