2 Debt-ridden Ryots Commit Suicide

KARIMNAGAR/WARANGAL:Two debt-ridden farmers including a woman have ended their lives in separate incidents.

Panja Laxmi (46) of Katkur in Bheemdeverapalli of Karimnagar has killed herself by consuming pesticide at her cotton field on Saturday and died during treatment at Mulkanoor hospital on the same night. According to sources, Laxmi cultivated cotton on three acres of land. But the crops did not yield due to lack of irrigation. Unable to cope with the mounting debts, she killed herself. In another incident, a farmer J Srinivas (30) from Warangal also died on Saturday in a similar vein at Chirrukunta.
