Contempt notice to junior civil judge

HYDERABAD: A division bench of the High Court on Wednesday issued contempt notice to S Ramakrishna, a junior civil judge (who is under suspension), for making allegations against a judge of the Hyderabad High Court and the whole judicial system at a press conference recently.

The bench, comprising justices V Ramasubramanian and Anis, took up suo motu contempt case based on a letter by C Nageswara Rao, president of Andhra Pradesh High Court Advocates' Association along with the video footage of the press conference. The video clipping of the press conference was also uploaded on social media through YouTube.

Senior counsel CV Mohan Reddy brought to the notice of the bench about the proposal of the junior civil judge to hold another press conference at Guntur on July 21.While issuing notice to the junior civil judge to appear before the court on July 22 to show cause as to why he shall not be punished under the Contempt of Courts Act, the bench directed him to refrain from holding the press conference.
