Fair Deal to Irrigation Oustees: CM

HYDERABAD: Chief minster K Chandrasekhar Rao has asked the officials concerned to render maximum assistance to the families of those displaced from the sites of various major irrigation projects in the state.

At a review meeting on the oustees of irrigation projects held at his camp office here on Tuesday, the chief minister said that all the major irrigation projects were designed with less submergence. However, there would be marginal submergence under any irrigation project, Rao said and added that the oustees should live in a respectful manner.

He asked the officials to give three separate cheques to each oustee for house, cattle and trees, and money for constructing a new house and compensation for the land lost.
