Stating that a minimum of `600 crore worth of works should be done under the 2015-16 wage component, the minister said that till now, expenditure of only `217 crore was done. Earlier in the day, the minister inspected the ongoing NREGS works at Thimmayapally and Ramachandrapur villages.

Directing the officials concerned to ensure that the labourers seeking work under NREGS should be put to work compulsorily, he said if any worker does not get the work under NREGS, the field assistant would be removed. “All field assistants should reach the villages by 6 am and supervise their works,” Rao added.
