HYDERABAD: The state government will launch pension scheme for single women and distribution of KCR Kits formally on the state formation day on June 2. Around 10 lakh people will benefit from new schemes including sheep breeding and beedi workers’ pension in the state.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao reiterated the need to strengthen rural economy and said that the collectors were given total powers to implement various innovative schemes for uplifting the living standards of all sections.

KCR made these remarks at a day-long district collectors’ conference at Pragathi Bhavan on Monday. Rao reviewed all the welfare and development works with the collectors. The CM directed collectors to identify 10 lakh beneficiaries under sheep-breeding, single women, beedi workers pension and 2BHK housing scheme.

CM’s suggestions on various schemes 
Sheep purchase: The sheep purchase scheme will create a wealth of `20,000 crore in next two years initially. Units will be distributed on the required fodder for the four lakh sheep.

2BHK houses: Aadhar card may be used as a criteria. Adopt transparent lottery system in front of Gram Sabhas. 

Single women: There are over  2.5 lakh single women in TS. Identify them for the pension scheme.
KCR Kits: Registration should begin before 12th week of pregnancy. Facilities in labour rooms in 350 PHCs, 102 area hospitals, seven teaching hospitals have been upgraded, numbering a total of 459 government health centres.

Incentives to doctors: When some collectors brought to the notice of the CM about the non-availability of doctors in tribal areas, Rao suggested that incentives would be given to doctors who were willing to work in tribal and remote areas.
