HYDERABAD: Claiming that TDP government in AP is providing Rs 8,000 price per each quintal of chillies in that state, the party’s TS unit leaders have asked the TRS government in Telangana why it is unable to pay more than Rs 4,000 a quintal in the state.

TDP state unit working president A Revanth Reddy, politburo member Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy and others tried to lay siege to the office of the agriculture commissioner here on Tuesday.

Later, they alleged that the TRS was showing criminal negligence by not offering Minimum Support Price (MSP).

“If the Chief Minister is really committed to the welfare of farmers, he should first provide remunerative price for all agricultural  produce. He should also implement his promise of providing fertilisers to farmers free of cost from this year itself,” Revanth Reddy and Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy demanded.

Earlier, while staging a dharna before the agriculture commissioner’s office, The TDP leaders shouted slogans against the government, alleging that it was denying MSP to chillies and other crops.

Police took all the TDP leaders into their custody and later took them to a nearby police station. After a while, all the TDP leaders were set free.
