AP neglected renowned TS personalities: Telangana CM KC Rao

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said that several renowned personalities from Telangana were grossly neglected in united Andhra Pradesh.

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said that several renowned personalities from Telangana were grossly neglected in united Andhra Pradesh.“Towering personalities from our state including Kotwal Raja Bahadur Venkata Rama Reddy, former Housing minister Dharma Reddy, the person who established Kukatpally Housing Board Colony, Dalit leader Bhagya Reddy Varma and several others were ignored during in combined AP,” he said.

On Tuesday, Rao along with other cabinet ministers and legislators laid foundation stone for construction of Reddy Hostel complex in Budwel, Rajendernagar, Rangareddy district. “The government has allotted 10 acres of land and sanctioned `10 crore for the construction of Reddy Hostel and other educational institutions by RBVRR Educational Society,” he said while addressing the inaugural ceremony for the centenary celebration of Reddy Hostel and 150th birth anniversary celebration of RBVRR. Speaking about RBVRR, Rao said, “While working with Nizam government, Reddy started several Telugu medium schools and 14 other educational institutions,” the CM said.

‘We changed the name of AP police academy’ 
Rao, during his speech, claimed that he changed the name of AP Police Academy as RBVRR TS Police Academy. However, the APPA was named as RBVRR Police Academy by previous N Kiran Kumar Reddy government on March 14, 2013.
