Parties form strategies to win SCCL trade union polls in Telangana

The state is going to witness a mini electoral battle with all political parties.

HYDERABAD: The state is going to witness a mini electoral battle with all political parties including TRS girding their loins to woo more than 54,000 voters in the ensuing Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) recognised trade union polls.

In the wake of the announcement of the schedule for the SCCL employees’ union elections, all parties — TRS, Congress, TDP and Left, have begun devising their strategies in order to make their respective party’s trade union win the electoral battle. As the SCCL employees and their families play a major role in deciding the electoral fortunes of any political party in more than 20 Assembly segments and five Lok Sabha constituencies spreading across six districts in the general polls, no party wants to adopt lackadaisical approach towards SCCL trade union elections.

Even as the ruling TRS is formulating strategies in order to ensure its associate trade union, Telangana Boggu Ghani Karimika Sangham (TGBKS), which won the previous election conducted in 2012, retain its position in the employees’ polls, Congress, TDP and Left are hell-bent to defeat the ruling party’s trade union in these elections.
