Contract lecturers on strike warned

The state government is likely to take stern action against striking contract lecturers if they do not call off their strike in the next one week’s time.

HYDERABAD: The state government is likely to take stern action against striking contract lecturers if they do not call off their strike in the next one week’s time.

Around 25 percent contract lecturers have been on strike demanding increase in their salaries and regularisation of  services.

The government has only recently enhanced their salary from Rs 18,000 to Rs 27,000 a month. It has also taken a policy decision to regularise their services. Yet, nearly a quarter of of the contract lecturers, went on strike.
