Kaleshwaram-Manair link will be completed by June: KCR  

The chief minister said that from the next Kharif season farmers of the region would be able to cultivate two crops. Theis would help them to become more self reliant.

KARIMNAGAR: Stating that his government’s ambitious Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) would provide water to parched regions of the state, chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said that the project would be linked with Mid Manair Dam (MMD) and Lower Manair Dam (LMD) by next June.
“The project works are near completion. The link will benefit people of Karimnagar and Warangal districts. People of these two districts will have enough water for both irrigation and drinking purposes,” he said.

Addressing Haritha Haaram public meeting at Ambedkar Stadium after formally launching the third phase of the programme at LMD on Wednesday, the chief minister said that once KLIP link process is completed, Karimnagar district would become number one in the country. An additional Rs 1,000 crore is sanctioned to link KLIP and Sri Ram Sagar Project (SRSP), to provide water to 15 lakh acres, he said. 
On the occasion, he announced Rs 25 crore for construction of town hall (Karimnagar Kalabharati). 

He said funds for the construction would be sanctioned under Satavahana Urban Development Authority (SUDA), recently formed by merging 71 villages in Karimnagar, Manakondur and Choppadandi Assembly constituencies. 

The government has already sanctioned `500 crore for Manair River Front development and 
Rs 74 crore for suspension bridge on Manair river, he said and added that Karimnagar would be developed like London.Until 1 crore acres are brought under irrigation, the government will provide Rs 8,000 per acre input cost, uninterrupted power supply and make Telangana green, he would not rest, he said.

Govt to set up Green Brigade 
In order to protect the saplings planted under Haritha Haaram, the government would soon set up Green Brigade at every gram panchyat, municipality and mandal  level. The government would also present awards to 523 organisations for protecting saplings. The winners would be presented with a cash award of Rs 1 lakh to Rs 8 lakh. 

Sheep distribution scheme: KCR slams Oppn 
Taking strong exception to the Opposition parties on sheep distribution programme launched by his government, chief minister accused them of misleading people.  Describing the Opposition leaders as ‘Sannasulu’ the CM said Congress was indulging in false propaganda. “Do not believe in things making rounds in social media. They are all false. This is the handiwork of Opposition to defame my government,” he said.
