HYDERABAD: In a shocking incident, a youngster allegedly set his father afire after the latter nagged him to study harder. The father suffered severe burns and is battling for his life.
The incident happened in Mancherial, Telangana. According to the police, the youngster had completed the first year of a polytechnic course. As the second year was crucial, the boy’s father had been insisting on more effort.
The father-son duo had had frequent arguments over this and on Monday night a heated argument took place.
Later, the father went to sleep in his room. During the wee hours, the youngster allegedly set his father on fire. Woken up by the man’s screams, his family doused the flames and took him to a government hospital where the condition of the injured is said to be serious.
