HYDERABAD: A 14-year-old boy allegedly killed his mother by slitting her throat in Mangalhat in Hyderabad on Sunday. The deceased had reportedly refused to give the boy money to consume alcohol.
The deceased has been identified and was a resident of Mangalhat. Her name is being withheld to protect the identity of the juvenile accused, as per Juvenile Justice Act, 2015.
According to Mangalhat inspector A Sanjeeva Rao, the woman’s husband had died a few years ago. After her husband’s demise, she and her son started selling scrap material for a living.
“Both mother and son were addicted to liquor. However, she saved some money for regular expenses and kept it secretly. The boy somehow found out that his mother had money which she refused to give him. They used to have frequent arguments over this,’’ the inspector said.
On Saturday, the boy asked his mother for `200 to consume liquor. When she refused him the money, the enraged boy allegedly slit his mother’s throat.Neighbours found the body and informed the cops, who registered a murder case.
