Woman attacked with acid at Garimillapally village of Telangana, auto driver suspected

In a gruesome incident, an autorickshaw driver reportedly poured acid on a 24-year-old married woman at Garimillapally village on Wednesday afternoon.

WARANGAL: In a gruesome incident, an autorickshaw driver reportedly poured acid on a 24-year-old married woman at Garimillapally village on Wednesday afternoon. The woman identified as Maduri, has suffered 70 pc burns and her condition is stated to be very critical. It is learnt that she was found with her hands and legs tied with ropes and crying for help near a bush. Her family told media that the woman left home after she got a call around 1 pm and after a few hours, they received a call stating that Maduri has been admitted.

The family claims that the attacker could be auto driver Chandu, who had an illicit relationship with her. The woman’s sister Anjali said Madhuri and her husband had arguments after he came to know about the relationship. She then came to live with them. About six days back, Chandu slapped her mother who then lodged a complaint.
