HYDERABAD: The district collectors will adopt one tribal hamlet each and see that the hamlets are developed on par with other villages. The state government will give additional funds of `1 crore to each district collector for this.“Every collector should adopt a tribal hamlet. We will give additional `1 crore for this. Like Dalit wadas, girijan thands, chenchu and gond gudems should also be developed,” CM K Chandrasekhar Rao directed officials at district collectors conference at Pragati Bhavan on Thursday.

“Collectors should personally monitor programmes aimed at eradicating poverty. Each collector should adopt a tribal hamletand develop it on all fronts. The situation in the tribal hamlets should change for good in one year. Construct houses, provide employment, arrange healthcare and give two domestic animals per house,” he directed the collectors.

The CM also gave specific instructions to the collectors on the purification of land records across the state. “In every village, there are 80 to 95 lands, which have no dispute or litigation. Get clarity on these lands with the help of people and farmers in the village. In the second phase, identify the lands that are in litigation,” Rao told the collectors.
