Assets worth Rs 6 crore unearthed from Telangana ACTO

An assistant commercial tax officer, Bathina Surender Goud, of Jadcherla in Mahabubnagar was arrested by Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths for amassing illegal assets.

KARIMNAGAR: An assistant commercial tax officer, Bathina Surender Goud, of Jadcherla in Mahabubnagar was arrested by Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths for amassing illegal assets worth Rs 6 crore to his known source of income. Director general (ACB) J Purnachandra Rao said that on a tip-off, ACB teams conducted simultaneous searches at residence of Goud and at the residences of his relatives. 

“During the searches, it is revealed that Goud acquired properties in his and his family members names. The seized properties include two houses at Jadcherla worth Rs121 lakh, agriculture lands to an extent of 40 acres in Mahabubnagar worth Rs19 lakh, seven open plots at Jadcherla worth `4 lakh, two cars worth Rs 17 lakh, motorcycle worth Rs 60,000, bank balances worth Rs 8 lakh, gold ornaments and silver articles worth Rs 4 lakh, insurance premiums worth Rs 6 lakh and household articles worth `5 lakh,” the DG said. The document value of the properties is approximately Rs 1.85 crore.The market value of the properties is approximately `6 crore. The accused officer, who has been arrested will be produced before the court for judicial remand.
