Submit report on removal of  illegal structures, says HC

A division bench of the Hyderabad High Court on Friday directed the Hyderabad district collector and revenue authorities concerned to submit a detailed report explaining the steps taken

HYDERABAD: A division bench of the Hyderabad High Court on Friday directed the Hyderabad district collector and revenue authorities concerned to submit a detailed report explaining the steps taken for removal of illegal structures/encroachments and ensuring that there is no further construction on the land which falls within the FTL (Full Tank Level) of Suram lake at Bandlaguda village in the district.

The bench of ACJ Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice M Satyanarayana Murthy made this order in a contempt case filed by Primary Fishermen cooperative Marketing Society Limited complaining that the authorities concerned have failed to implement the court orders.

Hyderabad district collector Rahul Bojja and other officials are respondents. In March last year, the court while dealing with a PIL case seeking to protect the Suram lake, directed authorities concerned to take steps to remove encroachments to protect the lake. The petitioner society now filed the contempt case alleging that the officers are silent on the issue. After hearing the case on Friday, the bench directed collector and revenue authorities concerned to submit action taken report by next week and adjourned the case hearing.
