HYDERABAD: On the seventh day of their protest, contract assistant professors found support from literary figures, BC and Left bodies. The participants once again reiterated the demand that all contract employees should be regularised and part-time lecturers should be upgraded as assistant professors.

Telangana State CPI(M) secretary Tammineni Veerabadram condemned education minister Kadiyam Srihari’s statement on issuance of recruitment notification without resolving the issues of contractual employees. “This shows the double standards of state government,” he said.
