Telangana a role model for country, claims KCR

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao claimed that Telangana is a role model for the country for not only creating wealth but also distributing the same among the poor.

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao claimed that Telangana is a role model for the country for not only creating wealth but also distributing the same among the poor.
“TS is a role model in the country in creating wealth and also its equitable distribution with social justice,” Rao claimed at Telangana State Formation Day celebrations at Parade Grounds on Friday.

Chandrasekhar Rao unfurled the national flag and inspected the ceremonial parade. Addressing the gathering later, Rao said as per the Comptroller and Audit General (CAG) statistics, the growth rate of Telangana is 17.82 per cent, which is top in the country. “The highest growth rate is possible because of the best policies and financial discipline,” Rao claimed.

We have been implementing 35 welfare programmes, spending `40,000 crore annually,” Rao said. He said that the State overcame power crisis and the government was planning to give 24 hours power supply to farmers from this Rabi season onwards. Safe drinking water under Mission Bhagiratha would reach the villages from December this year, Rao added.

Explaining the government’s efforts to boost rural economy, Rao said they would restore around 5,000 minor irrigation tanks this year under Mission Kakatiya. The CM said they were implementing the six-pronged strategy for making agriculture profitable for farmers.

“We are uniting the farmers, completing the irrigation projects, providing quality power, decided to give `8,000 per acre as input, bifurcating the state into crop colonies and ensuring remunerative price to farm produces,” he said.

TS not alms provided by Cong: Harish Rao
Siddipet:
Telangana is not alms provided by Congress, said irrigation minister T Harish Rao and added they achieved the state by fighting the Centre. Responding to the allegation made by Rahul Gandhi, Rao, at a press conference at Siddipet on Friday, said it is not correct for Rahul Gandhi to speak as if Congress had given the state as alms. ‘Sakala Janulu’ had fought for the state with the Centre and achieved it, he added. TRS is providing uninterrupted power in TS, he said and asked Rahul to visit the rural areas to see it.
