HYDERABAD: With the state government enhancing the age limit for unemployed youth to apply for policemen jobs, there has been a mammoth response from job aspirants for the 18,500 posts of police sub-inspectors and constables. As many as 7.19 lakh job-seekers have applied for the posts for which the last date for sending applications was June 30.

Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board (TSLPRB) received applications online for direct recruitment to 1,271 vacancies of SCT SI (Civil), 29 vacancies of SCT SI of police (Info Tech & Commns), 26 vacancies of SCT Assistant SI (Fingerprint Bureau), 16,925 vacancies of SCT PC (Civil) and 231 vacancies of SCT police constable (Info Tech & Commns), drivers and mechanics.

Board chairman VV Srinivasa Rao said here on Monday that 7,19,840 applications had been received, which is just 6 pc less than the number received during 2015-16.  The board set up a helpline and invited written complaints from the aspirants, during the process of accepting online applications. Almost 21,130 complaints were received and the board gave replies to each complaint.
