Telangana: Agency areas in grip of viral fevers

People living in the Agency areas are in a grip of fear as viral fevers are spreading due to incessant rains for last one week in both Khammam and Bhadradri Kothagudem districts.

KHAMMAM: People living in the Agency areas are in a grip of fear as viral fevers are spreading due to incessant rains for last one week in both Khammam and Bhadradri Kothagudem districts.

The tribal people are facing troubles in Bhadrachalam Agency area to reach hospitals as there is no proper road connectivity and streams and tanks are overflowing. According to official records, about 104 malaria and eight dengue cases have been identified in Bhadradri Kothagudem and about 40 dengue cases have been identified in Khammam.

According to K Narayana, an RMP in Dummagudem of Bhadrachalam division, everyday as many as 30 to 40 fevers cases are being reported from remote villages.

Due to heavy rains at upper catchment area, river Godavari is rising at Bhadrachalam. The present water level at Godavari is 18.6 feet & is likely to rise further, say  CWC officials. Meanwhile, seven gates of Taliperu were lifted to discharge 8,900 cusecs water. It’s present level is 72.88 mts
