CM K Chandrasekhar Rao to launch three schemes next month in Telangana

While 48.26 lakh farmers have received Rythu Bandhu cheques, officials have so far registered the names of 40.64 lakh farmers for the life insurance scheme.

HYDERABAD: Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will launch, besides Kanti Velugu and farmers’ insurance scheme on August 15, a scheme for Backward Classes probably in the first week of August. The government will provide Rs 50,000 to Rs 80,000 directly to BC youths for starting self-employment enterprises.

Chief secretary SK Joshi held a video conference from the Secretariat on Tuesday with district collectors on the launch of these three schemes.

While 48.26 lakh farmers have received Rythu Bandhu cheques, officials have so far registered the names of 40.64 lakh farmers for the life insurance scheme. The chief minister will formally launch the insurance scheme by distributing policy documents to some farmers on August 15.

Meanwhile, officials have asked the district collectors to hire the services of private doctors if there is any shortage of government doctors in the districts for conducting the Kanti Velugu programme. The government will provide tabs to ANMs and the senior officials will monitor the Kanti Velugu programme online every day. The CM will launch Kanti Velugu in Gajwel.

The CM will also launch a scheme for the welfare of BCs in the next two or three weeks. Under the scheme,  the government will give Rs 50,000 grant to small traders belonging to BCs for self-employment. BCs doing petty businesses and wishing to upgrade it will get Rs 80,000. The beneficiaries have to make a matching contribution of Rs 20,000.
