The victim Upender Reddy Boreddy claimed that while the piece of land was registered on his name, Papi Reddy had been using his official position to influence the police. Papi Reddy, however, refuted the allegation terming them as blatant lies. He said Upender Reddy had purchased the land only after he (Papi Reddy) had entered into an agreement with landowner Damodar Reddy.

“He purchasing the land for which I had made an agreement and paid advance is illegal. I approached court which issued orders to not alienate the land until further orders. He is playing cheap tricks to damage my image,” he said.

Meanwhile, Upender said the land was registered on his name and mutation process was also completed. He also accused Papi Reddy of pitching tents on his land in January in order to attack him. “I escaped as I was not there. I approached police but he had influenced them,” he said.

Upender approached the court and a referral case was registered on July 21. C Venkataiah, SI of Turkapally police station, said that they were collecting evidence now.
