Counter affidavit filed against Ponguleti’s plea 

The Andhra Pradesh government told the Supreme Court that none of the provisions contained in the AP Reoganisation Act, 2014 had been implemented in entirety till date

HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh government told the Supreme Court that none of the provisions contained in the AP Reoganisation Act, 2014 had been implemented in entirety till date, even after nearly four years since the bifurcation of the state took place on June 2, 2014. The state wants that all issues contained in various provisions of the Act are implemented. 

As for the establishment of steel plant in Kadapa, it said that MECON has submitted the feasibility report to the ministry of steel in February 2018 and the Centre has to take action for establishing a steel plant. In this regard, the AP government, represented by retired IAS officer L Premachandra Reddy, filed a counter affidavit in the petition filed by Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, Congress deputy leader in TS legislative council, seeking directions against the authorities concerned to take action on the representations made by him for implementation of provisions of the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014.
