KT Rama Rao asks PM Narendra Modi to sanction funds for Hyderabad-ITIR project 

The state government had sought a financial assistance of Rs 4,863 crores (Rs 942 crore for phase-1 and Rs 3,921 crore for phase-2) for the creation of external infrastructure.

HYDERABAD: Industries and IT minister KT Rama Rao has requested prime minister Narendra Modi to revisit the Hyderabad-ITIR project and sanction the agreed amount of money for its execution.

During his meeting with Modi held in Delhi on Wednesday, KTR recalled the fact that Centre had approved formation of Hyderabad ITIR in 2013 in an area of 202 sq km in Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Area encompassing  Gachibowli and Madhapur in the jurisdiction of Cyberabad Development Authority;  Mamidipalli, Raviryal, Adibatla and Maheswaram under Hyderabad Airport Development Authority (HADA); and Uppal and Pocharam areas.

In tune with the ITIR policy of the Centre, the state government had sought a financial assistance of Rs 4,863 crores (Rs 942 crore for phase-1 and Rs 3,921 crore for phase-2) for the creation of external infrastructure. “Since 2014 the state government has been making rigorous efforts to secure the release of the agreed budgetary support from the Centre and has written numerous letters apart from holding personal meetings with Union ministers and officials,” he told the prime minister.

“After the formation of Telangana, there had been a resurgence in the state’s economy. Phenomenal interest was being shown by the industry to expand their operations in Hyderabad. In 2017-18, the total value of software and IT products of TS accounted for Rs 93,442 crore and this amounts to a growth rate of 9.3 per cent which is higher than the national growth rate of 7 to 8 per cent” The IT sector is growing rapidly, registering a growth rate of 13 pc per annum.
