9-year-old girl dies of anaesthesia ‘overdose’ in Telangana

The parents took her to Sairam Hospital, after which the girl was allegedly administered an overdose of anaesthesia.

SANGAREDDY: A nine-year-old girl died due to alleged overdose of anaesthesia in a private hospital here on Wednesday. The girl, Varshita, was taken to a hospital after she suffered a fracture in her hand.

The doctors, after examining her, suggested a surgery. Family members claim that the doctors who treated her, administered an overdose of anaesthesia which turned fatal to the girl. 

According to police, Varshita fell down and suffered a fracture in her hand. Her parents took her to a private hospital when doctors advised them to shift her to Sangareddy.

The parents took her to Sairam Hospital, after which the girl was allegedly administered an overdose of anaesthesia. She was then shifted to Akhara hospital in Madinaguda, where the doctors declared her dead on arrival. The relatives of the girl staged a protest in front of Sairam hospital.
